If you bring your gift to the altar
And there your remember that your brother
Has something against you,
Leave your gift at the altar.

Antiphon: First make peace with your brother,
Then come offer your gift at the altar.
1 . It is love that I wish,
And not an empty sacrifice.
I desire the knowledge of God
And not a worthless offering.

2. Let the man who has bread,
Now share with those who hunger,
Let him clothe the poor man in need,
In love and tender mercy.
